Trying new beauty products or a new shade of lip gloss can be a lot of fun! On the other hand, it can be very overwhelming and frustrating – especially if your busy day never seems to end. And, if your tried and true makeup products are working for you and lasting all day – why try something new? That’s why I wanted to try these Tarte Concealers for you – including cult favorite Shape Tape!
I hear all the time that one of your favorite makeup products is Tarte Shape Tape. Tarte recently released a new product in their Shape Tape Collection – the Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer. I was so excited to try it out! Shape Tape is not my go-to as I prefer the look of their Creaseless Concealer on my dry skin. So, with this new concealer launch, I knew I needed to try it. I decided to do a little comparison of the three products for you!
Better yet? If you would like to try a few new products, too, Tarte is having their Spring Steals sale with great deals starting at just $5. The Shape Tape concealers aren’t included, but if you pick them up during the sale, you can use code: THELILLIEBAG15.
Original Shape Tape vs. Shape Tape Ultra Creamy
After putting on both the Original Shape Tape and the brand new Shape Tape Ultra Creamy, you can see a difference instantly. The Ultra Creamy has a bit thicker texture and you can even tell there is more moisture. I personally found that by using the Original on my dry skin, it made my eyes look older and flaked after a few hours. They added in hyaluronic acid to the Ultra Creamy so it now has a 24 hour built-in hydration. It would be great for dry or mature skin!
Both of the Shape Tape products are full coverage and have a matte finish. It will stay the matte finish just like the Original Shape Tape, so if you love the regular but need a little more hydration – they nailed it with this Ultra Creamy.
Shape Tape Ultra Creamy vs. Creaseless Concealer
So now, the question was – is Shape Tape Ultra Creamy and Creaseless Concealer (my go-to) the same? The answer is in the finish! While the Ultra Creamy is a matte product, the Creaseless has a sheen to it for a dewy look. You get the same hydration and creaminess with the difference being the finish. Some ladies like a matte look under the eye, but I’m so fair and dry that I think the sheen is more flattering on my skin. If you would like to try a little bit of sheen while using a Shape Tape product, try using the Glow Wand over it.
