It’s no secret that cold weather can be hard on your body. My skin is super dry to begin with, so when you’ve got freezing temps outside and warm up in front of heaters blowing hot, dry air inside, it’s even worse! So, how do you combat the cold temperatures that rob your skin of any and all moisture?
I’ve tried a lot of products over the years to fight dry winter skin. This is my current daily skincare routine to remedy and prevent chapped, irritated areas. Adding a humidifier in your home will also help raise the humidity level which will in turn help your skin retain moisture levels. Remember, everyone’s body is different, but this is what works for me! Also, hydrate! Drink lots of water!
Face
I start and end my days with making sure I take care of my face. I use the same routine in the morning and evening and only switch one product. Consistency in your regimen is so important – never skip taking your makeup off at night!
- Cleanse – This cleansing balm is my favorite product to use to wash my face. It leaves my face feeling fresh in the morning and literally melts any makeup I have on at night right off! If it’s a super late night, I sometimes use facial wipes instead. It’s an easy way to make sure I wipe the day away before crawling into bed. (I even keep a pack in my nightstand!)
- Hydrate – If there’s one thing I can tell you to use on your skin, it’s this hyaluronic acid! It’s so hydrating and the best anti-aging tool. Squeeze a few drops in your hands and blot it in. I not only use it on my face, but also my neck and ear lobes. Use Code: LL20 for 20% off!
- Moisturize – Next, it’s time to add more hydration and lock in the hyaluronic acid by putting on your moisturizer. During this step, I have a different product for day and for night.
- In the morning – The Tula 24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream is one of my favorite go-to’s. I absolutely I love this face cream! It’s lightweight and not greasy. Make sure you don’t forget your neck and under your eyes. You can use code: LILLIEBAG for 15% off at Tula! This step is also where I put in my tanning drops to add a bit of color to my face twice a week. I add 3 drops of the medium color in with my moisturizer.
- In the evening – I’ve been using this gel night cream for even more hydration throughout the night. I’ve definitely seen a difference in my dry skin when adding it into my skincare routine.
Body
Dry skin on your arms and legs can not only be embarrassing, but also plain uncomfortable. I’ve been using this body lotion and it’s helped so much. The sensitive skin formula helps prevent dry, irritated skin.
Hands
We’ve all stepped up our hand-washing game in the past year. The constant washing and drying has made our hands dryer than ever! For relief, I keep this hand balm nearby at all times.
Hair
You may also notice your hair getting dry in the winter as well. To hydrate your strands I highly suggest this leave-in spray treatment. It can even help control frizz!
Lips
I’m OBSESSED with this lip mask (and I don’t say that often)! It’s SO hydrating. It comes with a small applicator and I find myself putting it on multiple times a day because I like the way it makes my lips feel.
What are your winter skincare secrets? I’d love to hear from you!
