Spring Vacation Outfits and a Weekend Getaway to Nashville
Paul and I took a quick weekend trip to Nashville and had a BLAST! It was a great little weekend getaway without the kids. We met up with Nasreen and her husband to explore the city together. We were only there from Friday evening to Sunday morning. And, even though our time in the Music City was short, our outfits were not short on style! My vacation outfits from Nashville are below as well as some of Nasreen‘s looks. If you are traveling to Nashville soon, I put our recommendations below for you, too.
Travel Style
There’s nothing worse than sitting on an airplane and being uncomfortable for the entire duration of the flight. This is one of my go-to outfits for traveling! These joggers are so comfy and then I paired them with a tie dye top and a denim jacket in case the plane was chilly. I always wear sneakers just in case we needed to run to a gate. (Spoiler: We had to switch planes due to an equipment malfunction and switch gates…the sneakers were definitely a good choice!) These carry-ons from Amazon are also the best – we’ve used them for quite a few trips.
Sizing: Denim Jacket – small; Shirt – small; Joggers – TTS
Look 1
A trip to Nashville without boots and a hat was not an option! I had to fit in! ? Loving this Target dress and even better? It’s only $25! It has 3/4 sleeves and since the temperature was only in the mid 60s I paired it with an ombre moto jacket. After a long day of traveling, it was the perfect outfit for our first night out.
Sizing
Lauren: Dress – xsmall; Jacket – size 4; size up
Nasreen: Dress – small; Jacket – xsmall
Look 2
On Saturday, we went out and explored the city. For the most part, we didn’t go too far from Broadway in downtown Nashville. It was a day full of good music, great food, and a whole lot of laughs. I wanted to wear something stylish but also comfy as I knew we would be walking around all day. This maxi dress is so darn cute! I added a knotted graphic tee on top of the flirty floral maxi for a bit of fun. The sandals I wore have got to be one of my favorite pairs this spring!
Sizing: Dress – small; Tee – small
Look 3
Next up is this maxi dress. It’s so, so good! Very flattering and the dress has snap buttons up the sides to make your slit as big or as small as you’d like. Such a great date night dress and will be perfect this summer, too! I paired it with my favorite leather jacket. I was lucky enough to grab this jacket on sale – I had been looking for an investment piece that didn’t wear out too quickly. Also linked below are a couple of more affordable jackets. And then, to finish off the look I added one of my favorite hair scarfs. If you remember, I also wore it during our beach vacation – it’s so versatile!
Sizing
Lauren: Dress – small; Jacket – size up
Nasreen: Bodysuit – xsmall; Jeans – true to size
Honorable Mentions
Since we had one heck of a travel day on Friday, we weren’t able to do as much around Nashville as we would have liked. My suitcase was still prepped in case an outfit change was needed. Here are the outfits that I packed, but I didn’t get to wear (yet!).
Love this outfit and better yet it’s all from Amazon! This skirt is so cute and by adding a graphic tee and sneakers it turns into fun, casual outfit. By swapping in a few different closet staples with the skirt, it could easily turn into a date night outfit. It’s even lined and there are multiple color options available.
Sizing: Graphic Tee – medium; Skirt – small
Don’t be afraid to add a bit of spice when wearing your jumpsuit! Pairing it with a knotted graphic tee gives it a fresh new look. I’ve had this jumpsuit for a couple of years now and it’s one of my favorites – super comfy. It’s currently on sale, too!
Sizing: Jacket – small; Graphic tee – xsmall; Jumpsuit – size down
Think a denim jumpsuit isn’t for you? Think again! This jumpsuit is SO soft and…yes, flattering! It’s constructed to still give you a bit of shape instead of looking like your grandpa in coveralls. I LOVE it – definitely a keeper! It also comes in black.
Sizing: Jumpsuit – Size 2, runs small
Nashville Recommendations
Again, we were only there from Friday evening to Sunday morning, but I wanted to give you all my recommendations from what we were able to discover in that short amount of time.
Hotel Accommodations
Thompson Nashville – It was a very nice hotel and comfy room! We loved their coffee shop and I really liked the vibe of their rooftop for drinks.
Food
Sunda – Sushi – yum!
Deacon’s New South – My personal favorite! Great restaurant for a nice dinner out.
Hattie B’s – We tried their Nashville Hot Chicken. The guys loved it! Very long lines, so we placed our order online and did pick-up to avoid line. Definitely make reservations!
Entertainment
Rippy’s Bar & Grill – located in the heart of the action on Broadway. The guys had ribs and it was so so for me. Best part was the live music and open air dining.
Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row – This was definitely our fave spot! The music was great!! It will get busy at night but super fun to hang out during the day here, too.
Bloom Bar at Dream Hotel – This is an amazing higher end lounge! Definitely a must-see with gorgeous decor and trendy music. When we were there they only had a dj, though, not a live band.
The Twelve Thirty Club – Located close to the historic Ryman Auditorium. We LOVED this place, too! It had more of a chill vibe with great food and music – my kind of place! Definitely make reservations. It’s trendy, but age appropriate and even though it was busy, it’s still slightly away from the crowd.
