Hi friends! How are you? Hoping it is a better week this week! I wanted to share some of my favorite hair and skincare products for summer days! I’ve gathered all of the products that I’m currently loving and using! Hair and Skin care should change seasonly as our climate does here in the midwest. It is a great way to switch up a few things especially with the sun and dryness that comes along with it! These are always my most requested posts so I am happy to be bringing the goodies here! As a cosmetologist myself, I have tried lots and lots of products not only for your hair, but skin as well.
With summer in full swing here, I’m really focusing on my haircare. Hair gets so dry from the sun and chlorine in the summer so it’s really important to give it some extra TLC and use skincare and beauty products with SPF to protect my skin as much as I can. I always suggest wearing a hat to protect your face and your hair this time of year. There’s so many cute options these days!
Skincare
I use Tula’s sunscreen every single day and I love it! Use code: LILLIEBAG for 15% off your Tula order! I use it under my tinted moisturizer, which also has SPF in it! I like to double up to be extra safe! You guys know how much I love my Josie Maran, it is my holy grail product. One of my top 5 of all time. It is also great mixed with your foundation to offer extra protection and hydration with a pop of color.
Don’t forget about your lips! I love the SunBum chapstick with SPF30. Lips often get missed a lot and they can swell up if they get too much sun. Always remember to protect them! My kids also use this.
My everyday moisturizer is Tula, this goes everywhere with me! I also use this as my under eye cream. I just dab it on thick under my eye! I find that the under eye area is really hard to treat, and I haven’t found anything that works like this!
Makeup
Another favorite is the creaseless concealer from Tarte. I use it ALL year round. The best stuff! I use shade 13N. You can get 15% off with code: thelilliebag15. So many of you have messaged me since I did a comparison of this and the regular on my stories, and so many have said its the best stuff and you wished you tried it sooner! It doesn’t sit in my fine lines and it’s also super hydrating!
I don’t do a ton of foundation in the summer, but when I need to I mix this IT cosmetics CC cream with the Josie Maran, and it is a beautiful combo! I like to keep it lighter in the summer.
Haircare
This swimmers shampoo is the best! It does a great job at removing the build up from chlorine and chemicals. If you don’t get that out the minerals they build up on the hair and this will not allow the good products to absorbs into the hair. I highly recommend using this all summer long if you or your kids are swimming. Be careful around the eyes with kids.
I am still using this purple shampoo and I mix it with the Biolage hydrating shampoo to help get rid of brassy tones and it doesn’t dry out my hair as much mixed together. It’s also great shampoo by itself! For conditioner, I use Biolage an it has brought my hair back to life! It’s one of my faves across the board and a great hydrating shampoo by itself as well!
This Olaplex mask has also saved and repaired my hair. I do it once a week and it’s fabulous if you have damage, breakage, or brittle hair. Rinse your hair, add product and leave on for 10 minutes, then shampoo out and proceed as normal.
My all time fave hairspray! There is no better hairspray in this world, trust me. It is top selling behind the chair and it holds so well in humidity!
A new product I’ve been using is the navy dry texture spray. I was skeptical, not going to lie, but I love it!!! Awesome for beachy hair and natural waves. Right now they are offering a buy one get one 50% off with code: SUMMERTIME.
