I really enjoy trying out new beauty products and reporting back on them for you! I’ve actually been trying out a few new makeup products lately and I liked them so much, I added them to my summer makeup routine. So, I put together a whole summer makeup look for you and it only takes 10 minutes. With the heat and humidity, I go by the rule ‘less is more’ on a day around the house. But of course, when we meet up with friends I do a ‘full face.’
As we’re getting further into summer, I’m realizing I need to go grab a darker shade in a few products to better match my tanned skin. So, please keep that in mind when looking at the shades listed below. Let me know if you have any questions!

Step 1: Tinted Moisturizer
I always start off with tinted moisturizer. I have dry skin, so more hydration the better! I love that it has a bit of color to it and SPF 47! Always protect your skin – it’s the only way to keep it looking younger as you age.
Step 2: Foundation
My tried and true is the It Cosmetics CC Cream – shade Light. It’s great for mature skin and doesn’t settle in your lines. I’ve been on the hunt for a full coverage foundation, too. I just discovered this brand new Amazonian Clay foundation from Tarte. After trying it out, it instantly went in my makeup bag! It’s so smooth and goes on flawlessly. I’m using shade 27S. I love using the brush from this bundle to apply my foundation and concealer.
Step 3: Concealer
Love this concealer! It’s been my go-to for years! The Creaseless Concealer has a sheen to it for a dewy look. Some ladies like a matte look under the eye, but I’m so fair and dry that I think the sheen is more flattering on my skin. I use the shade 13N.
Step 4: Highlighter
I love using the Hollywood Flawless Filter as a highlighter. It truly “blurs” yours skin and looks like a filter in real life! I lightly blend it in with the same brush as my foundation. So pretty! I use the shade 2.5 Light.
Step 5: Eyes
I’ve been a huge Tarte eye palette fan for quite a while now! This is my favorite palette. It’s got great neutral shades for every kind of eye look – even smokey! They also just came out with a Tartelette version of the Juicy palette. I’m excited to play with more of the rosy tones from it.
Step 6: Mascara
While I love the Lancome Lash Idole mascara, this one from L’Oreal is my all-time favorite. No matter what, I always go back to it! Mascaras are one product that when you find what you like it’s hard to make a switch.
Step 7: Brows
So, I don’t microblade my brows, but I do tint them. Even so, they need a bit of filling in. I have been using this eyebrow gel for a while. But, I just found this one from Tarte and it’s now in my makeup bag instead! The brush is so fine that it makes it look so natural. I use the shade: Taupe.
Step 8: Bronzer
My favorite bronzer has been a makeup staple of mine forever! It’s the NARS bronzer in shade Laguna. It gives the perfect definition in my cheeks and jawline. I’ve also been curious about cream bronzers lately. I picked up this one from Tarte and I’m kind of obsessed!
Step 9: Blush
I just added this palette to my makeup bag! It’s an all-in-one face kit from Charlotte Tilbury. It has everything you need for a quick makeup application all in the same palette (It would be great for travel!) . I like the whole kit, but I keep dipping into the blush! It’s such a pretty shade and creates the perfect glow.
Step 10: Lips
My favorite lip gloss is this one from Dior. I love the shade Raspberry, but I also have it in a few different colors in my makeup bag. And, when I need more moisture on my lips throughout the day, I always put on my go-to lip mask. I have a few open at one time including my purse and my nightstand!
